Sandifer Receives Key Endorsement from U.S. Congressman Gresham Barrett
(Seneca, SC) – S.C. House member Bill Sandifer has earned another major endorsement in his bid for re-election to the S.C. House — this time from U.S. Congressman J. Gresham Barrett.
Barrett, who serves South Carolina’s Third Congressional District, worked alongside Sandifer in the S.C. House from 1997 until 2003, prior to seeking federal office. Like Sandifer, Barrett is also a resident of Oconee County. The two have been good friends and were desk mates for many years, making the endorsement even more significant.
“I have a tremendous amount of faith in Bill Sandifer’s ability to protect our interests in Columbia. He will fight for less tax burdens, strong families, and individual freedoms while he f ights against wasteful government spending,” Barrett says.
“During our time together in the S.C. Statehouse, I could always count on his support and advice to keep improving our districts in Oconee County and moving our state forward,” Barrett continues. “Even now, I depend on Bill’s feedback to ensure our federal legislation best serves our friends and neighbors in the Third District.”
Understandably, Sandifer says that he is thrilled and humbled to receive the endorsement from his long-time friend and colleague.
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of Congressman Barrett. He and I share many similarities; we are both fiscal conservatives who care deeply about family values. He has watched me closely, knows my voting record and knows what I can get done. It’s great to have this vote of confidence from someone I deeply admire,” Sandifer says.
Barrett also says that he is endorsing Sandifer for the District 2 House set because he “trusts Bill’ s abilities and values.”
“I know that Bill Sandifer will continue to improve Oconee County when he’s re-elected to the Statehouse,” Barrett says. “I also know that Bill’s number-one priority is to serve those he represents. When someone calls me needing assistance from a state agency, I know I can always depend on Bill Sandifer to follow through.”
“Bill will continue to be a conservative voice in the S.C. House of Representatives, just as he has been for more than 14 years,” Barrett adds. “We need his help to continue our path of positive change for Oconee County and South Carolina. We need his leadership in Columbia.”
The endorsement from Congressman Barrett follows yesterday’s endorsement from the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund for Sandifer’s support of individual liberties and the Second Amendment.
