Sandifer Gains Endorsement from State’s Leading Business Organization
S.C. Chamber backs Sandifer for District 2 House seat

(Seneca, SC) — For his support of South Carolina business, Rep. Bill Sandifer has received an endorsement from the state’s largest broad-based business organization, the S.C. Chamber of Commerce.

As the unified voice of the business community, the Chamber supports pro-business candidates like Sandifer who have demonstrated a commitment to business priorities and advancing a legislative agenda that promotes competitiveness in South Carolina, according to S. Hunter Howard, S.C. Chamber President and CEO.

As Howard said in a letter to Sandifer: “We thank you for your commitment to representing the people of South Carolina who need good jobs, a competitive state economy, and a pro-prosperity working environment to ultimately raise our citizens’ incomes.”

“It’s an honor to have the support of the S.C. Chamber and business leaders all across our state,” Sandifer said. “The Chamber is one of the strongest voices for growing South Carolina’s economy and creating high-paying jobs to help our citizens. I am proud to receive a vote of confidence from this great organization.”

In the S.C. General Assembly, Sandifer has supported legislation to help small businesses by cutting taxes and increasing availability and affordability of health insurance. He has also worked to increase the availability of cable television to create new business opportunities and has been a major supporter of a bill that encourages electric utilities to build new generation capacity in South Carolina.

“As a small business owner, I have learned what it takes to manage a business in a changing global economy. I believe we must address issues such as taxation, education, and government regulations to build a better business climate and help South Carolina companies succeed,” Sandifer said. “By giving the business community tools for success, we can help companies create good, stable, high-paying jobs. These jobs are so important to improving the standard of living and quality of life for South Carolinians.”

The S.C. Chamber endorsement comes on the heels of several others Sandifer has received in recent days. Federal leaders supporting Sandifer include U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, U.S. Congressman Gresham Barrett and state leaders include Attorney General Henry McMaster, Treasurer Converse Chellis, Secretary of State Mark Hammond, Agriculture Secretary Hugh Weathers, House Speaker Bobby Harrell, Sen. Thomas Alexander, House Ways & Means Chairman Dan Cooper, House Labor, Commerce & Industry Committee Chairman Harry Cato, and House Majority Leader Jim Merrill. Sandifer has also picked up endorsements from Oconee County Sheriff James Singleton, and President of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative Chairman Charles Dalton, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, S.C. Chamber of Commerce, S.C. Trucking Association, S.C. Healthcare Association, S.C. Manufacturers Alliance, S.C. Telephone Association, S.C. Hospitality Association, and S.C. Association of Taxpayers.
